Georgeous, sun-drenched city-builder Town to City just announced its upcoming early access release date at the Future Games Show at gamescom.
Off the back of a successful demo during the most recent Steam Next Fest, Town to City is gearing up for an early access release on September 16, meaning you’ve only got a few weeks to wait until you can immerse yourself in its beautiful voxel-based world. If that’s too long to wait however, never fear, because you’ll still be able to access that demo completely free on Steam right up to launch.

If Town to City has escaped your notice so far, then you’re in for a treat. A delightfully relaxed city-builder steeped in 19th century Mediterranean sunshine, it’s also amazingly freeform, allowing you to grow your burgeoning town into a thriving city by freely placing homes and shops, and even sculpting the natural environment to fit what you want to build.
All that’s made possible by a beautiful voxel art style which compliments the completely gridless building tools perfectly. And with plenty of added customization options and the ability to interact with individual citizens – measuring their happiness and assigning them to specific jobs – your settlement can be entirely unique to you, all the way from the smallest town to the most bustling city, whether you’re playing in story or in sandbox mode.
